Why there are two answers
The SI prefix mega means 10^6. The IEC prefix mebi means 2^20. Both are real units and both appear in everyday software. When a file dialog and a drive label disagree, write the byte count down first, then convert from that. The KB to MB converter shows the same split one prefix lower.
